ANNUAL ACTIVITIES


Every activity in school life plays a significant role in development of students. Co-curricular activities are an essential part of school life and helps in enhancing the learning process of students at school. Co-Curricular activities are compulsory activities which is important for every student to participate. Co-curricular activities are designed and balanced with academic curriculum so that every student gets to learn beyond subjects. It is meant to bring social skills, intellectual skills, moral values, personality progress and character appeal in students. Don Bosco School aims at providing an all round education to the students. Co-curricular activities provide children opportunities to showcase their talents. House wise and open House competitions were conducted throughout the Year.

GETTING THE YEAR OFF TO A GREAT START

"The first staff meeting is always the best staff meeting of the new school year. The first staff meeting of the academic year was held on 11thJune, 2019. All the teachers were eager to start a new year. It was a very successful meeting as it set goals for the whole year.

ANNUAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION

The annual science exhibition was held on 23rd and 24th November. It was organized to encourage and inculcate scientific attitude in the students. The exhibition seeks to engage students and teachers to synergize experiences and motivate each other in designing the projects. The students from K.G to class X had enthusiastically participated to make the show grand success. The students came forward with new creative ideas and models on topics given separately for every class. Many new concepts regarding the designing of future city, new energy concepts etc. were showcased by the students.

YOGA SESSIONS

This year’s events and celebrations got kick started with the Observation of the “International Yoga Day “on 21stJune. Yoga is essential for inner and physical growth. It enhances the mental and physical well-being of a person.” The School organized a special Yoga session with the simple asanas to relieve from stress, strain and fear etc. in students. Students were taught various asanas.

EK SUR EK TAL

A musical event called “Ek Sur Ek Tal” was held in the school on 8th of July in the school hall. It is an event which conducted by Yuvak Biradari organization everywhere around the nation. Through it students are trained to sing songs in different Indian languages which are based on human values and penned by some of the greatest litterateurs. The motto of this event was to inculcate the spirit of human values and universal brotherhood through music. Almost 800 hundred students participated in this event.

TREE PLANTATION

It is rightly said that” Hills with trees are footprints of God” Tree plantation is not just something that should be done; instead, it is a necessity, the urgent need of the hour. Planting of trees is especially important to protect our environment against air pollution and global warming. Don Bosco School celebrated tree Plantation with immense pleasure and enthusiasm on 4th of July. The prefects of each house planted various saplings in the pots. On the same day an inter –house Poster making competition was held for the students.

STONE PAINTING WORKSHOP

This year our Arts Club organized a Stone Painting Workshop for its members. It was held on 29th of July. Every student took keen interest in participating in it. Each displayed their ideas, imagination and creativity in painting. It was very much appreciated by the teachers and students.

FIELD VISITS

Going beyond the classroom walls and textbooks will help to gain first-hand knowledge and experience which will enhance the academic learning. This year the school organized two field trips. the students of Std x were taken to Kokuyo Camlin Factory. Students have got real feeling of company’s working after this visit. And the Class IX students were taken to MIDC water purification plant, Gundale. It is rightly said that “See & know’ is better than ‘read & learn’. They got a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implication. This will even help students to understand subject matter clearly in future also.
